It’s Rally Time! Real Cars, Real Roads, Real Fast, It’s the 2008 Lake Superior Performance Rally, the Oldest, Toughest, Meanest leg of the Rally America Circuit!

October 16th, 17th and 18th Rally America brings Championship Rally Racing to the backwoods of Houghton, Baraga and Keweenaw Counties.

Friday October 17, get up close and personal with the cars and the drivers during the Parc Expose from at 1-2:15 p.m. at the Country Inn & Suites and the Mine Shaft / Rockhouse Hardwood Grille in Houghton. Drivers begin leaving the Parc Expose for Stage 1 at the Gravel Pit off Green Acres Road promptly at 2:15 p.m. and then head for the Ottawa National Forest in Kenton with the first cars arriving at the Kenton Service Area around 5:30 p.m. before running the Passmore (Stages 4 and 6) and Far Point (Stages 5 and 7). The Kenton Service and Stages are extremely impressive as the drivers and co-drivers navigate the National Forest in the dark.

Saturday October 18, the Parc Expose begins at 9:30 a.m. as the cars and drivers line up and take over 5th Street in Downtown Calumet before heading out for the north end run up the Keweenaw Peninsula at 10:30 a.m. The north end run offers Spectator viewing at Gratiot Lake (Stages 10 and 17) Delaware (Stages 11 and 16) and Burma (Stage 12 and 15) with the first cars arriving at the Copper Harbor Service Area around 12:45 p.m. The Delaware is one of, if not the best spectator point as the drivers navigate the long way through the delta and take a fast sweeping corner. Spectators are reminded if viewing from Gratiot Lake (Stages 10 and 17) or the Burma (Stage 12 and 15) both offering great spectator viewing, but the spectator viewing point access is via through the stage only and spectators must arrive early and depart the spectator point only after the final sweep vehicle passes.

The first car should be back to the Country Inn & Suites and the Mine Shaft / Rockhouse Hardwood Grille in Houghton for the finish at around 7:30-8:00 p.m.
